April 6, 2017 - The National Weather Service at Wakefield said there remains a significant severe weather threat for our area between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday. A tornado watch is in effect until 1 p.m. Thursday.
An initial area of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move across the coastal Carolinas and into Virginia Wednesday night. After a "brief lull," a second round of more severe weather is expected. The threat of tornadoes has been expanded to include central Virginia and the metro Richmond area Thursday morning.
